Martyn is  a long term resident of the Borough having been educated at Hampton School and now living  in the St Margarets Ward . He joined  BOAC as a Sales Apprentice  and moved into sales and reservations before becoming an Overseas Station Officer. Later selected for the Senior Management Course  becoming Area then Regional Manager in Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the Caribbean. He returned to the UK as Group Sales Manager in 1986 . During his time in the airline business he studied for the Institute of Transport at Ealing Technical College as well as the Management Course at Manchester Business School and the Advanced Marketing Course at Durham University.

He left BA to become Chairman and CEO of one of the top ten UK tour operators and later set up several specialised tour operations which were merged into one of the first online internet travel businesses which went public in 1999 employee 80 staff in their Twickenham offices.

Martyn is married with three children and four grandchildren two of his children live in the ward and their children attend local schools.

Martyn's interests are golf, rugby

Being retired he has time and energy to devote to council affairs and is particularly concerned that the current Council has less than 25% people  with Business Experience. He has a real commitment to make this ward the most desirable to live and work and wants to contribute on the issues facing the Borough in general

He is well aligned to UKIP'S commitment to REALLY PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST and key issues for the Borough are to reduce the rates, challenge the need for more houses, increase the number of daycare centres and extend free parking to 60 minutes
